Diamond Marathon club presents the 2025 edition of Ottosdal Draf & Trap marathon event. All the details on date and how to enter the race are listed below. The race combines both road running and biking races.

Date: Saturday, 25 January 2025

Location: Ottosdal Showground, Ottosdal, North West.

Distances and Starting Times:

• 42.2km Marathon: Starts at 17h30; cut-off at 23h00.
• 21.1km Half-Marathon: Starts at 18h30; cut-off at 23h00.
• 10km Race: Starts at 18h40; cut-off at 23h00.
• 5km Fun Run: Starts at 16h30.

Medals and T-Shirts:

• Medals awarded to all finishers.
• T-shirts provided to the first 700 entries.

Race Number Collection:

• Friday, 24 January: 18h00 – 21h00 at Ottosdal Showground.

Entry Fees:

• 42.2km Marathon: R170
• 21.1km Half-Marathon: R160
• 10km Race: R120
• 5km Fun Run: R60
• Note: Temporary license fee is R40.

Online Entries:

• Close on Wednesday, 15 January.

Late Entries:

• Accepted at the venue on Friday, 24 January from 18h00 to 21h00.
• Note: Late entries incur an additional R50 fee.

Starting and Finishing Point:

• All races start and finish at Ottosdal Showground, Ottosdal, North West.

Hydration:

• 12 water points located every 2km to 2.5km.

Additional Information:

• Lucky draws will be held.

History of the Race

In 1994 the first event was held.  It was only a 42.2km.  Over the years the event has grown to what it is today. It currently caters for roughly 3000 athletes, making it one of the biggest night races in North West.
