Congratulations to South African Queen of Road running Gerda Steyn for winning yet another marathon! The Cape Gate Vaal Marathon, held on February 23, 2025, featured outstanding performances from both male and female athletes.
The race was a success with 1412 people on the starting line. The race had many elite athletes from all over the country, big clubs like Hollywood AC and Nedbank AC sent their best athletes to the marathon.
Waterfall City AC athletes dominated in the Men’s top ten while on the ladies’ side it was a mix of different clubs.

Female Top Ten Results
Number one for females was Gerda Steyn. Her finish time is 2 hours and 40 minutes. She did a wonderful job putting her overall position to 5th when combined with males. That was a stunning performance!
She Also Managed to break the course record, showing how strong and ready she is for this year’s running campaign.
