Johannesburg Harriers is excited to announce the 2025 edition of the Johannesburg City Marathon. Set in the vibrant city of Johannesburg, Gauteng, this event offers a range of race distances to cater to runners of all levels.
The race is a Comrade qualifier. So get yourself fit by improving you Lactate Threshold, V02 max and ultimately, your overall performance!

Distances and Entry Fees
- 42.2km Marathon: R380
- 21.1km Half-Marathon: R280
- 10km Race: R180
Note: Temporary license fees will apply as follows:
- For Full Marathon (42.2km): R200
- For Half-marathon (21.1km): R170
- For 10km run: R60
Temporary licence fees is paid in addition to entry fee if you do not have Athletics South Africa (ASA) Permanent licence.
Registration Details
- Online Entries: Available until Saturday, 8 March 2025.
- In-Person Entries: No entries will be available on race day.
- Refunds: Please note that entry fees are non-refundable.
- Substitutions: Allowed only during pre-registration days.

Race Day Information
- Start and Finish: All races will commence and conclude at Klipriviersberg Recreation Centre.
- Medals: Awarded to all finishers within the cut-off time.
- Timing: Electronic timing will be used for accurate race results.
- Tog Bags: Secure facilities will be available.
- Headphones: The use of music players with headphones is prohibited and may result in disqualification.
- Pets: No pets are allowed on the racecourse.
- Walkers: Welcome to join the 10km and 21.1km events.
- Cut-Off: For the 42.2km race, there is a cut-off at the 26km mark at 10h00.
