Cape Gate Vaal Marathon 2025

The 2025 Cape Gate Vaal Marathon is scheduled for Sunday, 23 February 2025, at Dick Fourie Stadium, Klip River Drive, Vereeniging, Gauteng. This event marks the 50th running of this well-organized marathon.

21.1km Half-Marathon: Starts at 06h00
10km Race: Starts at 06h15

Entry Fees:

Marathon (42.2km): R320
Half-Marathon (21.1km): R240
10km Race: R150
5km Fun Run: R50
Note: Temporary license fee is R110.

Entry Information:

Online Entries: Registration closes on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at 12h00.
Race Day Entries: No entries available on race day except for the Fun Run, which will be available on the day only.
Entry Limit: 4,500 participants.
Substitutions and Downgrades: Allowed with a R50.00 admin fee, closing midday on February 19, 2025.

- Monday, January 20: 10h00–16h00
- Tuesday, January 21: 10h00–16h00
Dick Fourie Stadium:
- Wednesday, January 22: 10h00–16h00
Race Day: From 04h30 at the stadium.

Race Day Information:

Start and Finish: All distances will start and finish at Dick Fourie Stadium.
Handouts: Medals to all finishers.
Timing: Mat-to-mat (start line to finish line).
Tog Bags: Available from 04h00 on race day.
Headphones: Use of music players with headphones is not allowed and may result in disqualification.
Showers: Available at the venue.
Cut-off: Marathon halfway cut-off is 2 hours and 45 minutes.
