The City of Mbombela Marathon Club proudly presents the 2025 edition of the Jock of the Bushveld 4-in-1 Marathon. Join us for an exhilarating race day in Mbombela, offering distances to suit all runners.

Location: Barberton Bouwer Park (Sportsground), Mbombela, Mpumalanga.

Distances and Starting Times:

  • 42.2km Marathon: Starts at 05h30 from Madiba Drive/R40 Barberton
  • 21.1km Half-Marathon: Starts at 05h30 from R40 Barberton Road
  • 10km Race: Starts at 06h00 from R40 Barberton Road
  • 4.9km Fun Run: Starts at 06h00 from Barberton Bouwer Park (Sportsground)

Entry Fees:

  • 42.2km Marathon: R350
  • 21.1km Half-Marathon: R250
  • 10km Race: R150
  • 4.9km Fun Run: R50

Note: Temporary license fee is R50 for 10km distance and higher.

Online Entries:

  • No entries available on race day.
  • The closing date for online registration is 04 February 2025
  • Entries will be taken Manually at:
    • Civic Centre Barberton on Thursday, 6 February 2025, from 13h00 to 17h00
    • City of Mbombela Civic Centre on Friday, 7 February 2025, from 12h00 to 20h00

Transportation:

  • Bus Transport:
    • Included in the entry fee.
    • Buses depart from Barberton to Mbombela between 03h45 and 04h30 from Barberton Laerskool Sports Ground to the start of 42.2km, 21.1km, and 10km at Hoërskool Bergvlam, Cnr Geelhout Ave.
    • Buses depart between 03h45 and 04h30 from Hoërskool Bergvlam, Cnr Geelhout Ave and R40 (Barberton Road) Madiba Dr.
    • Note: Your race bib will serve as your bus ticket.

Cut-off Times:

  • 42.2km Marathon:
    • 21km mark: 3 hours 30 minutes (09h00)
    • 33km mark: 4 hours 45 minutes (09h45)
    • Note: Runners who have not reached these marks within the specified times will not be allowed to continue.

Hydration:

  • Water/hydration stations will be available approximately every 3 kilometers on the route.

Timing:

  • Mat-to-mat timing will be used and timed by a reputable timing company.

Headphones:

  • The use of music players with headphones is not allowed and may result in disqualification.

Pets:

  • Athletes may not participate with pets.
