Race Routes
The 5km route winds through the scenic neighborhoods of Illovo and Melrose North, offering a vibrant and accessible course.
The 10km and 21.1km routes take runners through Houghton Estate, passing significant landmarks like the Nelson Mandela Foundation and Nelson Mandela’s residence, adding a touch of historical significance to your run.

Important Rules and Guidelines
To ensure a fair and safe event, participants must adhere to the following rules (sourced from the event flyer):
- The race complies with ASA and CGA regulations.
- Athletes participate at their own risk and must be medically fit.
- Licensed athletes must wear 2025 license numbers and club colors, with the race number on the front. Temporary licenses are required for those without a 2024 license.
- Age tags must be clearly visible for category prize eligibility.
- No seconding, blades, cyclists, or mechanically operated devices are allowed.
- Earphones and similar devices are prohibited per IAAF rule 144.2b.
- Littering is strictly forbidden, and offenders risk disqualification.
- International athletes must provide a clearance letter from their country of origin.
- Participants must use their own race number unless prior arrangements are made with organizers.
- No refunds will be issued.
